Allen Prairie is contiguous to the eastern edge of the Prairiewood Preserve and is in the direct line of Manhattan’s west-side housing development expansion — with a dead-end road currently ending right at its fence line. To prevent this road and neighborhood from further encroachment, this parcel has been placed under an installment contract to be owned by the Prairiewood Connect Foundation (PCF). Although the contract’s initial installment was made possible by several generous donations, we must act fast to raise nearly half of the remaining $600,000 needed to complete this strategic acquisition by December 31, 2024. And, right now, due to a generous matching grant, your donation will be doubled up to $50,000!
